Toxic Release Inventory Reporting for a Pesticide Formulator
In 2006, a pesticide formulator’s parent company contracted EPS to prepare an inventory of all chemical substances at the facility subject to EPCRA reporting requirements. EPS prepared the chemical inventory, which included EPCRA Section 302 and 304 substances, and prepared the Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) Form R Report that accounted for more than 6,000,000 pounds of pesticides processed in 2005. In preparing this inventory and the TRI report, EPS developed a chemical database that included more than 400 substances used at the facility. The database allows the user to sort the facility’s inventory by trade or chemical name, toxic chemical, waste code, and by regulatory program applicability. EPS also performed source and stack testing to allow for the quantification of emissions from multiple processes. This data has also been used by EPS in preparing the facility’s air permit applications.
