Database Development for a Coil Coating Facility
EPS designed and constructed a database to manage air permit compliance records for a coil coating facility. EPS developed this tool to manage material usage data, as well as material property data (e.g., VOC, HAP, and solids content), for over 800 coatings and solvents in use at the facility. Rather than having to work for days each month with unmanageable spreadsheets, the facility is able to maintain its database and generate monthly emissions and coating compliance reports within a few hours each month.
After the initial database was developed, EPS and the client have found many other uses for the database, including generating the facility’s annual TRI (Form R) report, prioritizing material constituents for personnel IH sampling, and generating an MSDS index for meeting the facility’s HAZCOM requirements.
